Can I request a weather hold for my order? (US only)

This article explains the conditions under which weather holds may apply to US wine shipments. Customers can request a hold if temperatures are extreme, and retailers may delay shipping when needed.

Our retail partners always do their best to ensure your order is delivered successfully and that products arrive intact.

While spirits are generally not affected by high or low temperatures and can typically be shipped year-round without issues, wine is more sensitive to temperature fluctuations, especially extreme heat or cold. Because of this, some retailers may hold wine shipments until weather conditions are more favorable.

That said, we cannot guarantee that every order will automatically be held due to weather conditions. ⚠️

If you believe the weather in your area may not be suitable for shipping, you can request a weather hold before your order ships by contacting us at [email protected]. We'll do our best to coordinate this with the retailer whenever possible.

In some cases, we may also contact you before shipment if weather conditions appear risky. At that point, you can decide whether you’d prefer to ship the order anyway or wait for better conditions.

If you choose to ship your order despite a recommended weather hold, you accept the risk that the temperature during transit may affect the wine. In such cases, you will not be eligible for a refund or a replacement order if the product arrives damaged.

Couriers usually make three delivery attempts*. If the delivery attempt fails, an update will appear on the tracking page. Make sure you monitor your tracking regularly!

*US orders: Important information regarding wine shipments sent via UPS ❗

If your shipment contains wine and if it is sent via UPS, the delivery process will be as follows:

  • Drivers will make one delivery attempt at your address

  • If the first attempt is missed, the shipment will be redirected to the nearest UPS pickup location, where it will remain for 7 days.

    • The courier will leave a door tag with instructions to collect your parcel

    • If the shipment is not picked up within 7 calendar days, it will be returned to the sender.

  • If the nearest UPS pickup location is more than a 10-minute drive away from your address, UPS will make up to 2 additional delivery attempts before redirecting the shipment.
